Childhood Struggles
I am Sheetal Sharma from Delhi. I grew up in a middle-class family. My parents were busy and unavailable, though they provided comfort. Still, I carried trauma.
- I threw tantrums and shouted over small issues.
- If my wishes weren’t fulfilled, I cut my hand.
- I became arrogant, rude, and unable to love those around me.
- My mind was restless and constantly chattering.
By 2017, I attempted suicide twice. My life depended on antidepressants, sleeping pills, and other medications.

Introduction to Meditation
People often suggested meditation, but I ignored it. My therapist insisted I try.
- She made me sit in meditation for 10 minutes during sessions.
- She encouraged me to watch YouTube videos on meditation.
- My father convinced me to watch Sadhguru’s talks.
At first, I dismissed them. Over time, I began enjoying the seminars and learning about meditation. I started practicing with meditative music, which brought peace.

Building the Practice
When I shared my experience, my therapist advised meditating without music.
- It was difficult at first to focus.
- I became aware of my “Chatter Box” mind filled with repetitive thoughts.
- My therapist suggested using affirmations.
During meditation, I repeated:
"I am not the body and I am not the mind."
With practice, I improved. Now, I can meditate for 30 minutes, fully focused and uninterrupted.

Transformation
Meditation and affirmations changed my life:
- Fewer repetitive thoughts
- Balanced emotions
- Respect for differences
- Awareness and examination of my thoughts

Reflection
Some people resist change even when they know their flaws. Others transform through meditation.
For me, meditation has been life-changing.
"Meditation is a matter of belief."
